Swinside Lodge Country House Hotel located in the beautiful Newlands Valley near Keswick is a unique Georgian Lakeland property set in its own gardens situated at the foot of Cat Bells. It is surrounded by fells - Skiddaw, Blencathra, Cat Bells, Causey Pike & Swinside. Walkers and climbers are spoiled for choice with the high summits to forest trails and lakeside paths, there are walking routes suitable for all. 

Swinside Lodge offers a range of rooms and all of our seven bedrooms are tastefully & calmly decorated in the Country House style, offering a high degree of comfort and relaxation.

The ambience is calm, relaxing and pampering. Fresh flowers are placed in the public rooms together with complimentary fresh fruit daily in the reception area. You will find a wide range of books from guide books and history through to autobiographies and fiction within both our lounges. Also available are local maps and weather forecasts. A selection of free to use and up to date DVD’s for viewing in your room are available from within the  reception area and for guests requiring Broadband access this is available throughout the hotel.

The restaurant, candle lit in the evenings, is warm amd elegant yet bright and relaxing come breakfast time. Our menu changes daily, with each meal prepared with the finest fresh local ingredients. Soups, breads & ice creams are just some of the home-made delights that testify to the skills and dedication of our well-respected Chef! Selections of fresh vegetables accompany the main course and each evening we offer a traditional hot pudding, a cold dessert and a selection of fine Cumbrian cheeses. Our Chef has even been known to share a recipe!
